St. Rita of Cascia High School Announces New Physical Education Teacher & Student Athlete Academic Success Coordinator

CHICAGO – AJ Avery ‘12, Athletic Director, announced that Tim Forberg will be our new Physical Education Teacher and Student Athlete Academic Success Coordinator.

Mr. Forberg began his teaching career in 2006 at St. Laurence High School where he taught French, History, and English. While at St. Laurence, he coached basketball serving as the Varsity Assistant and the Head Sophomore Coach. In 2014, he continued his teaching career at DePaul College Prep where he taught French, U.S. History, and AP U.S. History and coached basketball assisting sophomores and serving as the Head Freshmen Coach. While at DePaul College Prep, he worked alongside Chicago Basketball legend Tom Kleinschmidt. Recently, he served as the Athletic Director at The Frances Xavier Warde School.

“I am most excited to be a part of the long-standing tradition St. Rita has to offer,” Forberg said. “I am looking forward to continue instilling our roots within the classroom and on the sidelines.”

Mr. Forberg will also be joining Head Basketball Coach Ross Burt’s coaching staff as a Varsity Assistant as they continue to grow our basketball program. Mr. Forberg will also be directing St. Rita’s new Mustang Basketball Academy for grammar school students.

Mr. Forberg grew up and currently resides in the Beverly area where he attended St. Barnabas School. He attended high school at Quigley South where St. Rita currently stands.

A fun fact to know about Mr. Forberg is that he has traveled extensively in Europe and he has also lived in France for 8 years.
