St. Rita Bus Transportation
St. Rita High School is committed to providing students with the most efficient, affordable and safest transportation possible. Our privately-owned shuttle buses allow students to have a convenient commute at a lower cost. All bus routes have morning, after school (2:45 p.m.) and after extracurricular activities (5:45 p.m.) availability.
For the 2024-25 School Year: St. Rita offers bus routes with pick-up and drop-off locations (at local grammar schools or other stops) along each of the routes. Students/Parents will be responsible for getting to one of the designated stops each morning to meet the St. Rita shuttle bus.
St. Rita currently offers service in the following areas: Beverly, Mt. Greenwood, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Blue Island, Alsip, Crestwood, Garfield Ridge, Clearing, Midway, Bridgeport, Canaryville, Lansing, Calumet City, Matteson, Lemont, Bolingbrook, Darien, LaGrange, and more.
Pick-up and drop-off locations is decided based on student ridership.
Transportation costs for 2024-25 are as follows:
Western Suburbs, Calumet City/Lansing, and Matteson Routes:
One-Way Transportation: $1,950 per year
Round-Trip Transportation: $2,450 per year
All Other Routes:
One-Way Transportation: $1,750 per year
Round-Trip Transportation: $2,250 per year
Metra Pick-Up/Drop-Off:
One-Way Transportation: $600 per year
Round-Trip Transportation: $850 per year
*If you add/cancel service, you ARE billed for the entire month*
Metra Rail System
St. Rita offers the Metra Rail, Southwest Service (SWS) as an option for students. Students are picked up and dropped off at the Wrightwood Station (79th & Kedzie) before school, after school and after extracurricular activities by a St. Rita mini-bus.
The Southwest Metra Line provides round-trip Metra service to students in areas such as Chicago Ridge, Homer Glen, Lockport, Manhattan, Frankfort, New Lenox, Mokena, Oak Lawn, Orland, Tinley Park, Palos, and Worth.
Students who live in downtown Chicago may also use the Metra Southwest Line into the Wrightwood Station from Union Station.
There are discounted student ticket rates available through Metra, when purchasing with a valid high school I.D. Students and Parents can visit their closest Metra line to acquire these discounted tickets. Students are encouraged to download the Ventra app on their phone to simplify the ticket-buying experience. Students pay by credit card for their tickets and show their student ID and phone app to the conductor.
