St. Rita of Cascia High School Announces New Head Track & Field Coach

CHICAGO – AJ Avery ‘12, Athletic Director, announced that Anthony Jordan Davis ‘11 will be our new Head Track & Field Coach.

Coach Davis attended grammar school at St. Sabina Academy, graduating in 2007. He went on to attend high school at St. Rita, graduating in 2011. He continued his education at Northern Illinois University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with a minor in Nutrition.

While running track at St. Rita, Coach Davis received many outstanding achievements. He was the 2009 Track & Field Freshman/Sophomore MVP, the 2010 and 2011 Track & Field Captain & Varsity Team MVP, and the 2011 CCL 100MD Champion & 200MD Runner-Up.

“My Track & Field journey at St. Rita was rich in camaraderie, hard work, and personal growth,” Coach Davis said. “I remember the late afternoon practices, the camaraderie shared, and the spirit of competition that ignited a flame in my heart. With each race, I learned not just about speed but about resilience, teamwork, and the immense power of believing in one another.”

Coach Davis received many certifications including:

  • National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Personal Trainer Certification

  • National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Nutrition Certification

  • USA Track & Field (USATF) Level 1 Certification

  • U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Jumps Specialist

Besides being a runner for St. Rita Track, Coach Davis has been serving as the Assistant Track & Field Coach for St. Rita since 2022. Outside of St. Rita, he is an independent Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach.

“I am eager to work alongside the incredible athletes at St. Rita, to inspire them to dream big, and to celebrate both their victories and setbacks as essential elements of their journey in Track & Field,” Coach Davis said. “Together, we will build a program rooted in hard work, respect, and unwavering support—as we chase not only medals but memories and life skills that will endure long after we leave the track.”
