An Evening Of Generosity: St. Rita High School’s Caritas Gala Achieves Great Success

On Saturday, February 1, St. Rita High School held The 36th Annual Caritas Gala Valentine Dinner Dance for the 35th year in a row at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago. The evening hosted hundreds of members of the St. Rita community, including alumni, benefactors, faculty, staff, Augustinian friars, and a table dedicated completely to first responders.

Over $456,000 in donations were raised over the festive night complete with awards, dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions.

“Since 1990, the St. Rita Family has come together in the spirit of generosity for this incredible celebration, raising millions of dollars and helping thousands of young men access the strong Augustinian education St. Rita has become known for providing,” President Deacon John Donahue shared. “This year was no different — and it would not be possible without the spirit of giving shared by the St. Rita alumni and benefactors.

The event was chaired for the third year in a row by Nick ‘04 and Ashley LoMaglio.

Honorees at the 2025 Gala included Tom ’74 and Trish Harrington, Couple of the Year; Joe Rizza (HON), Tolle Lege Community Service Award; Clare Napleton (HON), Crest of St. Augustine Award; and The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago, Organization of the Year.

Senior David DeLacy ’25 was the student speaker of the event. He was supported by many of his fellow Ritamen who volunteered to work the event. This year also featured two alumni speakers, Nick Adent ’20 and Kyle James ’21.

The date for The 37th Annual Caritas Gala is set for February 14, 2026 at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago.
