St. Rita of Cascia High School Announces New Head Volleyball Coach

AJ Avery ’12, Athletic Director for St. Rita High School announced Charlie Selke ’18 as Head Coach of the St. Rita Volleyball Program. 

Selke started his volleyball career at Queen of Martyrs winning two gold balls for the Southside Catholic Conference. From there, he knew he wanted to pursue volleyball at St. Rita being a 3-year Varsity player, 2x Regional Champion, 2x Sectional Champion, and made it down state taking 6th place. 

Selke brings his coaching experience from Marist High School, where he led the Freshman team to win their conference in 2024. He also was an assistant varsity coach and helped lead the team to a state title. 

“Outstanding leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish,” Selke shared. “I am looking forward to molding the boys into confident men on and off the court. As a graduate of the Class of 2018, I can’t be more excited to be back in the place I call home. Our team will represent St. Rita in the best possible way and make our family proud with relentless hustle on the court  and dedication to never give up. Go Mustangs!”

Selke currently works as a field technician at Al Warren Oil.

Coach Selke attended and is currently a parishioner to Queen of Martyrs (Class of 2014), he is the son to Mike and Tammie Selke. He is the youngest sibling of three, including his sister Amanda who is a 2009 graduate of Mother McAuley and a brother Danny ’12.
