St. Rita of Cascia High School Announces New Latin Teacher

CHICAGO – Josh Blaszak ‘02, Principal, announced that Kelly Gilbride-Loris has been named our new Latin teacher.

Kelly attended Andrew High School in Tinley Park. From there, she attended the University of Arkansas, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Anthropology. She continued her education at Florida State University where she received her Master of Arts in Classical Archaeology. During those years, she participated in excavations and archaeological surveys in Jordan, Tunisia, and Italy.

Kelly brings over 20 years of teaching experience to St. Rita, teaching Latin and Anthropology at Marian Catholic High School. While there, she also served as the Foreign Language Department Chair for 10 years. She enjoyed taking her students on trips to visit Roman sites in Italy, Greece, France, Spain, and Germany.

“I’m excited to continue and grow Mr. Dolan’s vibrant Latin program, helping students understand how and why Latin lives and the Romans are relevant,” Gilbride-Loris said.
