2025 St. Rita Hall of Fame Inductee: Kenneth Saffold Jr. ’04

We are honored to induct Kenneth Saffold Jr. ’04 into the St. Rita Hall of Fame at our 88th Annual Alumni Banquet & Hall of Fame Dinner. 

Kenneth attended elementary school at St. Basil before graduating from Visitation Catholic School, which set a foundation in discipline and academic excellence. While at St. Rita, he served as the Senior Class Vice President and a captain on both the Basketball and Track & Field teams. Kenneth was a member of the 02-03 Class AA Regional Championship Basketball Team and was a Regional and Sectional Champion in the long jump. 

Kenneth went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in Men’s Track & Field. He earned the Patriot League Men’s Track & Field Indoor Rookie of the Meet in 2005 and contributed to multiple Patriot League Indoor and Outdoor Championship victories. Kenneth was also a NCAA East Regional Qualifier for the 4x100 relay.

After graduating, Kenneth served with distinction in the United States Military. He received numerous accolades, including two Bronze Stars for his service in Operation New Dawn (Iraq) and Operation Resolute Support (Afghanistan). He earned the Unit Meritorious Award, three Army Commendation Medals, and two Army Achievement Medals. Additionally, Kenneth received a Global War on Terrorism Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and an Iraq Campaign Medal. 

Committed to giving back to the community, Kenneth has held various coaching positions, including former Girls’ Basketball Coach at Christ the King School and is currently the Freshman Boys’ Basketball Coach at Chicago Military Academy-Bronzeville. As owner of D1 Chicago Oak Park, he fosters a community that prioritizes athletic excellence and personal development. Kenneth is actively involved in veteran affairs, serving as a West Point Field Force recruiter and assisting prospective students in navigating the military academy application process.
