Mr. Pete Godfrey

Coach Godfrey joined the St. Rita High School Golf Program in August of 2009. In his first year at St. Rita, two of his golfers set records. One golfer (Tanner Panozzo) won the IHSA Regional Title with a school record of 67. Another golfer (Henry Capouch) qualified to compete in the IHSA State Golf Finals–the first in the history of St. Rita High School! The St. Rita Golf Team practices and competes on some of the best golf courses in the Chicagoland area.

Prior to arriving at St. Rita High School, Coach Godfrey was the Head Varsity Boys’ Golf Coach at Homewood-Flossmoor High School for 10 years. During this period, his coaching record was 113 – 18 – 1. Coach Godfrey led 5 teams and 4 individuals to the IHSA State Golf Finals.

For the past 25 years, Coach Godfrey has been a teaching professional during the summers and a physical education teacher during the school year. Coach Godfrey and his wife have 2 grown children. Their daughter, Megan, played golf at the University of Illinois and their son, Andrew, currently competes at Western Illinois University. Coach Godfrey is proud to join the rich athletic traditions at St. Rita High School.
