Letter to Catholic League Supporters

Dear Patron of Chicago
Catholic League Athletic Events,

Our schools are members of the Chicago Catholic League and the Illinois High School Association. The philosophy of both of these organizations is that they exist to foster an educational philosophy which includes lessons that can be carried throughout life including the responsible use of alcohol and alcoholic substances.

As responsible members of the CCL and the IHSA, the rules of both of these organizations must be adhered to by the members, and those same members must see that they are carried out.

Alcohol and alcoholic substances are not allowed on any of our campuses before, during, or after any interscholastic athletic contest. Any person or persons using such items will be prosecuted by our schools under the local community statutes.

Failure to adhere to this mandate could result in the host school being removed from post-season play and/or losing the privilege of having contests on its property – a hard earned opportunity that would really be demoralizing to the student-athletes who have earned that privilege.

Please cooperate with our request and do not use alcohol at any of our schools.

Respectfully,

Catholic League School Administrators
