Transportation Options

St. Rita Private Bus Service | Space is Limited

St. Rita owns four 14-passenger buses. These allow students to have a shorter commute at a lower cost. St. Rita buses operate mainly in Beverly, Bridgeport, Western Suburbs, Oak Lawn, and the Chicago Midway area. Routes are redrawn each year after ridership is determined for the upcoming school year.

Metra and Private Bus riders WILL NOT follow late arrival schedules. Students will follow a regular schedule throughout the year on Mondays – Fridays: 7:55 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.

Bridgeport Route

  • Providing round-trip bus service to students with stops throughout the Bridgeport area and south on Western Avenue to St. Rita.

Beverly/Morgan Park Route

  • Providing round-trip bus service to students with stops along Western Ave. from 123rd Street north to St. Rita.

Garfield Ridge Route

  • Providing round-trip bus service to students with stops throughout the Garfield Ridge area.

South Suburban Route

  • Providing round-trip bus service to students with stops throughout areas such as Alsip, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Mt. Greenwood and Beverly.

Metra Rail System

St. Rita offers the Metra Rail, Southwest Service (SWS) as an option for students. Students are picked up and dropped off at the Wrightwood Station (79th & Kedzie) before school (7:25 a.m.), after school (2:45 p.m.)  and after activities (5:45 p.m.) by a St. Rita shuttle bus.

The Southwest Metra Line provides round-trip Metra service to students in areas such as Chicago Ridge, Homer Glen, Lockport, Manhattan, New Lenox, Oak Lawn, Orland, Palos, and Worth.

Students who live in downtown Chicago may also use the Metra Southwest Line into the Wrightwood Station from Union Station.
