How do I apply to St. Rita High School?
Eighth grade students seeking admission to St. Rita are required to take our entrance exam. The Entrance Exam will be held at St. Rita on Saturday, January 12, 2013. There is no pre-registration for the exam. All remaining admission documents will be distributed at the Entrance Exam.
What Entrance Exam is administered at St. Rita High School?
St. Rita administers the STS High School Placement Test (HSPT). Students must bring $25 test fee and #2 pencils to the Entrance Exam. Calculators are NOT permitted. Peterson’s, Barron’s and Princeton Review all publish study guides for the HSPT. For free online HSPT practice questions click here.

Please note: Students who have an IEP or 504 Plan are allowed additional testing time on the Entrance Exam. You must send St. Rita a copy of your IEP or 504 Plan prior to the Exam date for approval for additional time.
When will I know that I have been accepted to St. Rita High School?
Notification letters will be mailed on Tuesday, February 15.
How does St. Rita determine Academic Placement?
All students are placed in an academic program that is tailored to fit their needs. Enrollment in each of the programs is based on Entrance Exam scores, 7th & 8th grade reports, discussion with their 8th grade teachers and parental input.
St. Rita academic programs offer a great deal of flexibility. Therefore, students may be placed in one program for some classes and another program for other classes. Students are able to move between programs to meet their academic needs.

Does St. Rita High School offer Financial Aid?
St. Rita annually awards over one million dollars per year in need based financial aid and scholarship. Academic Scholarships are awarded to students who score in the 85% on the St. Rita Entrance Exam. Click here to learn more about Financial Aid and Scholarship.

Does St. Rita High School offer Transportation?
St. Rita offers many transportation options for students including Metra Rail, CTA, and private bus service. St. Rita has private bus service to Lincoln Park, Bridgeport, Southeast Suburbs – Indiana, Southwest Suburbs, Garfield Ridge/Midway, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Mt. Greenwood, and Beverly. How many students attend St. Rita High School?
The enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year is approximately 700 students.
How many graduates from St. Rita High School go on to college?
Over 97% of our graduates go on to attend college or university. In the class of 2012, 157 graduates earned over 14 million dollars in merit based scholarships. Over Two-thirds of the class earned Academic Scholarships to colleges and universities such as the University of Michigan, Notre Dame, University of Illinois, Northwestern, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Purdue University, Villanova, St. Louis University, Marquette University, DePaul University, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin, and many other prestigious schools.
Do I need to be Catholic to attend St. Rita High School?No, St. Rita welcomes students of all faiths. All St. Rita students are required to take four years of Theology courses and attend all school Masses and retreats.
Does St. Rita High School have a Uniform Dress Code?
Yes, St. Rita students adhere to the following Dress Code:
- Pants – Dress pants that are Khaki, Blue, Black or Grey with a belt.
- Shirt – St. Rita Polo shirt (Red or Blue)
- Shoes – Brown or Black dress shoes.
- Students wear a St. Rita shirt and tie on Mass days.
