Why An All-Boys School?

Q: When can I shadow at St. Rita High School?
A: We host Shadow Days on any regular school day throughout the year. One of the best days to shadow at St. Rita is on Columbus Day. Always call Mr. Craig Ferguson at 773-925-7482 or register online to schedule your Shadow Day. We look forward to hosting you at St. Rita. Most Ritamen say, “When I came here to shadow, it just felt like home.” We hope you have a similar experience.
Q: What types of scholarships do you have?
A: When you take our initial placement exam on January 12, 2008, you can become eligible for three different Academic Scholarships. The top 2 scorers receive an annual scholarship of $2,500. Any student that scores in the 95th percentile receives an annual scholarship of $1,250. All students in the 88th to 94th percentile receive a $1,000 scholarship for their first year at St. Rita. You can also apply for Financial Aid.
Q: How many classes will I take each day?
A: St. Rita men take six classes throughout the day. They begin the day with a homeroom teacher where they pray together, listen to announcements, watch Channel 1 and begin their first class. During the rest of the day, they move to five different classrooms.
Q: Do you have a uniform?
A: Yes, St. Rita does have a uniform. We believe that those who want to succeed, dress for success. Ritamen wear a recognized official St. Rita High School polo shirt, dress pants, and dress shoes.
Q: What time does the school day start and end?
A: Tuesday through Friday the first bell rings at 7:50, with the first class beginning at 7:55 (Monday follows Late Arrival Schedule). Our day begins with a prayer lead by students and/or staff members. Our day ends with announcements and a prayer at 2:20. Most students remain at school to participate in a variety of clubs and activities.

Q: Where is St. Rita High School Located?
A: St. Rita is located at 77th and Western. CTA Busses pick-up and drop off students right in front of school. We are in the process of developing a ride-sharing program to make it easier for students to arrange and share rides to and from St. Rita.
